The 2008 Classic Motor Show at the NEC will be Meguiar’s 3rd year as show sponsor and the 3rd appearance of The Meguiar’s Club Showcase.
The Classic Motor Show is the climax of the UK classic show season and is eagerly anticipated by classic enthusiasts every year.
During 2008 Meguiar’s will support some 90 car events in the UK and physically attend nearly 60. A team from Meguiar’s will be at the national meetings for all the larger clubs and many more besides. This support for numerous Concours and Show & Shine events brings Meguiar’s into direct contact with the very best classic vehicles in the UK and presents a superb opportunity to assemble 16 “Best in Show” cars from the year.
The Meguiar’s Club Showcase is a celebration of the very best vehicles from the UK classic car world. Each year the Showcase offers visitors an unrivalled variety of cars from stock Minis to Italian exotica and custom built hotrods. There is truly something for every taste and passion.
Every participating Showcase car is awarded a formal memento of participation, but in addition to this, a team of independent judges are given the unenviable task of selecting just one car from the Showcase as Best in Show. From the 2007 Showcase the flawless XK150 of John Brewster, representing the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club (JEC) was selected as The Meguiar’s Club Showcase Best in Show in the face of very stiff competition from a Mk1 VW Golf GTi and a 1946 Ford Station Wagon.
Cars can only appear once in The Meguiar’s Club Showcase,
regardless of how often a car may win its club’s national concours.
This simple rule ensures that every Showcase has a totally new selection of top drawer classics.
