Golden Years of Ginettas

Golden years of Ginettas

The Ginetta Owners' Club will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Ginetta G15 at the NEC this year. The Ginetta G15 is Ginetta's biggest selling car to date with approximately 800 being built.

Three excellent examples on display - a replica of the G15 in which Alison Davis became Britain's first lady motor racing championship in 1979; A G15 that has been owned by Bruce Shearman from new, and a Concours winning G15 owned by NeiSayer.

To complement the three G15s, the Club will also display a Ginetta G18 single seater. Ginetta built just seven G18 in 1969 and only three have survived. Not many sports car manufactures built single seaters but Ginetta were and still are keen to push the boundaries when it comes to making cars.

The Ginetta Owners’ Club will display G18 chassis number 7 which has just completed a full season of Historic Formula Ford racing including a trip to Spa.

The fifth car on display is something quite different. It is a Ginetta G34, one of only 16 built in Sweden using mainly Volvo parts. This car is one of only two in the UK and has not been seen in public since 2005.
