The BMW Car Club GB will be paying tribute to two major anniversaries in the company’s history at this year’s Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, held at Birmingham’s NEC from 11th to 13th November.
2016 sees the centenary of the Munich firm that began as a small aero-engine manufacturer and is now associated with some of the world’s finest cars and motorcycles and the Club is delighted to be a part of BMW GB’s celebration of this milestone in automotive history.
The Club’s stand at the season finale will represent many aspects of BMW’s heritage and one of the star attractions will be a 2002 to mark the 50th birthday of the 02 range, the first of the BMW ‘compact saloons’.
The 2002 was pivotal in consolidating the brand’s success on both sides of the Atlantic and today surviving models are now some of the most sought after classics of their generation.
The Club will also be showcasing two classic models that took part in the ‘Relay Around Great Britain’ and visitors will have the opportunity to see the BMWs that were once owned by their parents or affluent next door neighbours. In 1970s and 1980s, such cars were the object of aspiration or envy from young motorists and today they continue to attract attention as highly affordable and very desirable classics.
Finally, as a part of the Show’s Heroes and Heroines theme the Car Club will be celebrating the people who forged the company’s past and those responsible for creating a new generation of BMWs.
See this fantastic display and meet the BMW Car Club GB in Hall 1 at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show.
