CELEBRATING FAMILY TIES IN HALL 3 AT NEC CLASSIC

CELEBRATING FAMILY TIES IN HALL 3 AT NEC CLASSIC

There are plenty of classic cars that are perfect for this year’s ‘Family Ties’ theme, and one of those is the BMC 1100 and 1300 range.

Fully embracing the theme is the 1100 Club that promise visitors a special poster display celebrating how the models have been a playing a part in family motoring life for more than half a century.  You’ll find some amusing and touching stories so be sure to head over to Stand 45 in Hall 3 for a chance to recall some of your own fond memories.

And that’s not all as four cars will be on display, including a lovely example of the Mk II model that was introduced fifty years ago.  The Club aren’t giving much away about the cars on the stand, so you’ll just have to pay them a visit to find out more.  It sounds intriguing!

Also featuring on this year’s stand will be a wide range of Club regalia, along with an opportunity to purchase - at a discounted price - a copy of their well-received book; ‘The Story of the BMC 1100’

If that’s whetted your appetite for this charming family classic, then Hall 3 is where you’ll also find the stand for ado16.info.  Established in 1999 to cater for not only the BMC 1100/1300 but the full range of ADO16 models including variants from the likes of MG, Riley, and Wolseley they are bringing along two fine examples.

The first is a rare 1968 MG 1300 two-door - a model on sale for just five months before being replaced by the Mk 2 version in September 1968 - and this will be joined by a 1971 Morris 1300 Super Deluxe four-door.  Rounding off the display is a special collage of The Beatles and their ADO16s.
