In line with the shows overall theme ‘Classics Reunited’,
Lancaster will have a number of stands that reunite people
with classics they will remember from their childhood –
and the prime example will be TV’s red and white Gran Torino
– the very same ‘Striped Tomato’ that starred in Starsky &
Hutch will be on display on our Gran Tornino Experience
stand at this year’s show.

There will also be an Era inspired stand, where in our 1950s
zone will feature an American drive-in diner and a two toned
’56 Chevy Bel Air. If you think Martin Ledger’s 1956 Bel Air
looks familiar, you might just be right. It featured in an episode
of the TV soap, Emmerdale, back in April of this year.

Lancaster Insurance is committed to making 2013 the best show

Classic Irish Driving Routes

Driving on the island of Ireland’s gently winding roads you could be forgiven for thinking you have strayed into a breathtaking watercolour . The roads of the Island dip and weave through a fantasy landscape where, valleys, hills and coastal enclaves become blanketed in beauty. Picture the purple heather of the Wicklow mountain as you take to the Grand Tour of Wicklow and Kildare, the glimmering emerald green of the Glens of Antrim as they hug the Causeway Coastal Way ; the wind-whipped views from the Wild Atlantic Way as it meanders the length of the west coast; to the stunning Ring of Kerry in the deep southwest peppered with pristine beaches, medieval ruins and majestic mountains! And needless to say a classic car tour would not be complete without experiencing the well signposted route taken by the first ever international motoring competition in Ireland sponsored by none other than Gordon Bennett in 1903.
