There’s a ford for everyone at The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, with Discovery

If you love classic Fords then a very special selection awaits visitors in Hall 5 at this year’s Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, with Discovery. And there really is something for everyone, from charming saloons to the world’s favourite commercial.

On Stand 592 you’ll find ‘Five Stars’, the Owners Club for the Mk1 Consul, Mk1 Zephyr, and Mk1 Zodiac.  It’s their first time at the show and they are out to impress with a fine selection of cars spanning the complete range of Mk1 models, from a Consul to a pair of very rare Convertible models.  You’ll definitely want to see them again next year so be sure to ahead over and show your support.

If ‘the car you always promised yourself’ is more your thing, then the Capri Mk1 Register on Stand 588 is an absolute must-visit.  Not only will they be remembering 45 years of the short-lived and very desirable ‘face-lift’ model but they have promised show-goers a real treat in the form of a Capri rally car with an amazing history.  Not only did it take part in the epic 1970 London to Mexico Rally but it was also entered into the London-Sahara-Munich World Cup Rally four years later, which almost ended in disaster - the car got lost in the desert with the driver and co-driver rescued in the nick of time. Like we said, amazing.

The Fiesta Supersport Register on Stand 490 will remember four decades of the Fiesta being officially sold in the UK. The club is bringing one of the few surviving Mk.1 Supersports, the model that was the test bed for the XR2, to the show.

And how we could we forget the fantastic Ford Transit. The highlight of this year’s Transit Van Club stand is surely the stunning ‘Supervan’ that features a V6 engine and a top speed of 180mph!  But there’s more, too, in the shape of a 1976 long-wheelbase panel van and a 1969 Hallworth camper.  And to top it all off you can grab a signed copy of the new book from Club founder, Peter Lee.

Just some of the Fords represented in Hall 5, there’s a lot more to enjoy.
