Sunbeam Talbot Alpine Register
Stand number: 4-600
Historically, the most important day of 2018 is 11th November, the Sunday of the Show. It will be one hundred years to the day since the signing of the Armistice which brought about the end of the First World War, one of the deadliest conflicts in history.
Together with the show theme of ‘Built to Last’ we thought that we would take three of the Club’s earliest cars – all pre-war designed – one red, one white & one blue and place them within a war themed stand.
There will be multiple display boards illustrating the Club's trip to Belgium in August, where W.W.1 monuments in and around Ypres were visited and wreaths were laid in an official ceremony at the Menin Gate, Ypres. In addition, there will be W.W.1 poetry, W.W.1 uniforms and a profusion of poppies.
ABOUT THE CLUB:
Founded in 1969, the Sunbeam Talbot Register (STAR) is a Classic Car Club dedicated to the use, restoration and preservation of the Rootes Group Talbot, Sunbeam Talbot and Sunbeam cars (Tens, 2/3/4 Litre models, 80s/90s Saloons and Coupes and Alpines) manufactured between the 1936 and 1957 model years.
STAR provides opportunities for members to exchange information and ideas and to assist in the location of spares. The magazine Stardust, offers articles of topical and technical interest, photographs of members’ cars and events, archive material and members advertisements.
A varied selection of social and competitive Club events are organised throughout the year on both a regional and a national basis. There is an excellent regional organisation for members throughout the British Isles and an ever growing network of overseas members who are kept in touch with regularly.
STAR is committed to the re-manufacture of spare parts that are not available from other sources and has a Spares Fund for this purpose.
