The Ford Escort 1300E Club History and sneak preview of the Cars on Stand 8-040

1300E Owners Club History
The Ford Escort 1300E Owners Club was first formed in 1983 by friends who all owned 1300E’s, Robert Watt, Neil Samuel and Victor Herman, two are still members today, although they no longer have the cars.
The club grew quickly, and in 1985 became recognized by the Ford Motor Company. It went on to have its own National days, club magazine and had a spares department.
Sadly in 2015, the club had to close its doors, however in 2020, the club was re-started by Ray Coley, as a free to join Facebook club. With no membership fees, the club has both new and old members in its portfolio and has an informational website for those non-Facebook owners (https://1300eownersclub.godaddysites.com/).
Last year it was the clubs’second visit to the NEC, and it was the 50th anniversary of the launch of the 1300E. This year we celebrate the 51st anniversary of last production year of the 1300E, along with the 41st Anniversary of the Classic Car Show. We will be in Hall 8 stand 8-040 so come and visit us.
Retroford Magazine provide a forum for enthusiasts from all Ford Clubs to see the cars being preserved and restored as well as understanding the history behind the many great car clubs. We are pleased to be able to follow the journey of members of this special club down to the NEC Classic Motor Shows 2025.
