NEC Classic Sets New Record With 330 Clubs Invited To 40th Anniversary Show
This year’s Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, held 8-10 November, has invited a record breaking 330 motoring groups to join it’s 40th anniversary show.
Held at Birmingham’s NEC, the season finale saw a record number of motoring clubs and groups apply with 364 organisations vying for space, including 44 clubs that have never applied for a stand before.
Show Director Lee Masters said: “We committed to offer more clubs than ever the chance to share their cars with our audience this year and we have done just that! We’ve invited 330 clubs compared to last year’s 318, which has meant being clever with the space to make sure everyone has the opportunity to present their club and marque.”
Clubs already accepting the offer include MG Car Club, Jensen Owners Club, P6 Rover Owners Club, and TR Drivers Club, all of which exhibited at the launch event in 1984. Meanwhile, the Young Retro Motor Club, Mini 40 Register, and Air Cooled Are Us are amongst those making their NEC debut.
As well as celebrating 40 glorious years of the show, several clubs will be celebrating milestones of their own including the 120 year anniversary of Rover Cars celebrating along with MG’s centenary in Hall 3, the Mustang Owners Club is planning a big display for its 60th anniversary, British Mini Club and other mini clubs are planning to celebrate the 65th year of the Mini, while Fiat Motor Club (G.B.) & Fiat Panda Club will be celebrating Fiat's 125th anniversary.
