6/80 & MO Oxford & Cowley Club

2025 marks the 70th anniversary of the Morris Isis, first introduced in July 1955, and the club will be showcasing an extraordinary collection of four models:

  • 1956 Morris Isis Series I Saloon – an export model repatriated to the UK in 2004 and restored to near-concours condition (Reg MY 1515).

  • 1956 Morris Isis Series I Traveller – exported to Canada, then New Zealand, returning to the UK 69 years later for display at the NEC. A very rare survivor, seating eight adults with two rear-facing occasional seats.

  • 1957 Morris Isis Series II – a recent barn find with only 37,000 miles, returned to the road after 30 years in storage. Exceptionally original in rare factory cream.

  • 1957 Morris Isis Series II Deluxe Duotone – recently restored, possibly an ex-BMC factory car, representing the ultimate Isis and the last flagship model to carry the name.

The Isis name, revived by Morris in 1955, represented the fastest and most powerful cars they produced, blending performance, quality, and style. Notably, a 1956 Isis set the record for the fastest Nairobi–Cape Town return over four days, averaging over 60mph on mostly gravel roads.

With only around 13,000 Isis ever produced and perhaps 20 remaining roadworthy today, seeing four together is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The display celebrates the best of both worlds: cars designed for city use and long-distance cruising, bridging pre-war Morris traditions with the modern BMC era, combining quality, strength, and power at a competitive price.
