Ford cortina mk1 club – Celebrating Family, Heritage, and Motorsport

The Ford Cortina Mk1 Club is bringing a family-focused display to the show this year, showcasing both heritage and performance.
Stand highlights include:
-
1965 1500GT – a cherished family car, owned since 1971, celebrating its 60th birthday on the show stand on Sunday 9th November. This GT has won Best GT class at the Mk1 Cortina Nationals for the past three consecutive years.
-
1963 1200 Deluxe – the son’s car, displayed alongside his father’s GT, also a class winner at the Mk1 Nationals. Together, they represent the club’s family values and the enduring appeal of the Mk1 Cortina.
-
Jordan Race Team Lotus Cortina – owned and raced by Pete Chambers, this car is a masterpiece of attention to detail. Built by JRT, it has competed in historic championship events including Goodwood Revival and members’ racing events. This advanced production of a road saloon perfectly embodies the show theme, “The Best of Both Worlds”, bridging classic road car elegance with historic racing performance.
The display celebrates heritage, family connections, and motorsport pedigree, offering visitors the chance to see how a classic road car can excel both on the track and as a cherished family classic.
