Geoff Mitchell's 1961 Chrysler Newport Convertible
There is no missing this car, with its eye-catching period correct Dubonnet Red paintwork (metallic pink in reality!), enormous fins, canted headlights and gorgeous Kelsey Hayes chrome wire wheels – It’s surely the peak of Fifties classic American car styling. The car was restored to an extremely high standard in America, using only period-correct parts. The interior is believed to be original, right down to that fully functional electro-luminescent Astra Dome Instrument panel. Powered by what’s believed to be a 361 cu in V8, the transmission is naturally a Torqueflite auto ’box. Stand-out features on the Chrysler include nice-to-have power-brakes and those killer tailfins.
