Scott Newman's 1972 Dodge Challenger

Scott Newman's 1972 Dodge Challenger

“It’s only original once” was a big thing a few years back and launched a host of books portraying one-owner, unrestored ‘original’ cars. Now, we’re not saying that Scott Newman’s 1972 Dodge Challenger falls exactly into that category, as it has had a few upgrades over the years; however, 24-year-old Scott is his car club’s youngest car-owning member!

Scott’s Challenger is fitted with a 318cu in (5.2-litre) V8, which many agree is a really lovely engine and he’s owned the car since last October. Having said that, this isn’t Scott’s first Yank, that was a ’66 Oldsmobile and his dad has always had American cars and passed his enthusiasm onto Scott. In many ways, Scott’s lucky his Challenger is still around, as although it was sold new through West End Motors of Elkin, North Carolina (which is in the far North-west of the state near the Virginia/Tennessee border) and still wears the dealer sticker it latterly spent 20 years parked up in a trailer park in Michigan!
