2026 marks 35 years since Mazda’s historic victory at the Le Mans 24 Hours — and the creation of a very special MX-5 to celebrate it.

Just 24 1991 Mk1 MX-5 Le Mans Editions were planned, with around half believed to survive in the UK today in their distinctive original Mazda Racing livery. We’re bringing together as many of these rare cars as possible to create a truly unique display, with five already confirmed.

There’s also a very special addition planned. One of the original Le Mans Editions was long thought to have been destroyed, but after more than 20 years missing, it has been found and rescued. Now undergoing restoration, we’re hoping to bring this remarkable survivor to the show for its debut — giving visitors the chance to see a piece of MX-5 history being brought back to life.

The display may also feature Mazda UK’s Heritage Fleet Le Mans Edition, currently in museum storage, making this a very rare gathering of one of the most distinctive early MX-5 special editions.
