This 88-inch GPO engineering vehicle combined a 2.25-litre petrol engine with a modified capstan, central Plumett winch, governor and specialised wiring. With no surviving template for several fittings, its owner enlarged period images, interpreted every bracket and control, then fabricated replacement parts, preserving a one-of-a-kind survivor of Britain’s telecommunications history.
