Celebrating 70 Years of the Austin Healey 100M — A Le Mans Legend
Celebrating 70 Years of the Austin Healey 100M — A Le Mans Legend
In 1955, Austin-Healey introduced the factory 100M (‘M’ for Modified) on the BN2, a model that incorporated the Le Mans performance package — larger SU H6 carburettors, cold-air box, high-lift camshaft, and higher-compression pistons — raising output to around 110 bhp. It was a true blend of competition spirit and road-going usability.
Seventy years later, the 100M is still revered as one of the most iconic Healeys ever built. At A H Spares — specialists in Austin Healey, Sprite, and MG Midget parts since 1972 — we’re celebrating this milestone by reflecting on the history and legacy of the 100M.
