Ginetta G15 then and now with the same family

Roy Burrell from Coventry is one of our members. He owns a Ginetta G15 which will form part of our display at the NEC. There is an interesting story behind Roy and his car.

The G15 was built by Ginetta for display at the 1968 Motor Show, it is the 13th one built. Roy purchased the car in 1979 as his everyday day. On holidays it would carry Roy, his wife Carol and their three children. I have attached a photograph of the whole family with the car in 1982.

Roy never sold the car and it was eventually put into storage with a plan to one day restore it (how many people have said that).Roy was true to his word and over the past few years has been working on the G15.

This year he finished the restoration and it will be the centrepiece of our display at the NEC. To commemorate the completion of the rebuild another photograph was taken of the family with the car with them standing in a similar pose forty years after the original photo. I don't think they would all fit in now!
