Its chassis number points towards a long-wheelbase export vehicle, yet Old Smokey now sits on a short-wheelbase layout—making this trialler a genuine “Heinz 57”. Built and campaigned by successful competitor Jim Tate from the 1970s to the 1990s, its battered panels, period markings and homemade ingenuity remain visible today.
