Nothing has a soul quite like a Land Rover!
Founded in 1984 by a small group of enthusiasts in South West England, the Land Rover Series 2 Club has grown into a friendly, inclusive international community of more than 2,650 members.
The club exists to encourage the appreciation, restoration, preservation and—most importantly—driving of Land Rovers built between 1958 and 1971. From meticulously restored vehicles to hard-working daily drivers, unfinished projects and well-worn family favourites, every genuine Series 2 has a place in our club.
You do not need to own a pristine show vehicle—or even own a Land Rover—to join us. All you need is an interest in these wonderfully characterful vehicles and a willingness to share in the conversation.
Knowledge, advice and practical support
Our members collectively possess an extraordinary depth of experience. Whether you are maintaining a reliable daily driver, tackling your first restoration or trying to identify a box of unfamiliar parts, help is rarely far away.
Membership provides access to:
* A friendly and active online forum where owners can ask questions, share restoration progress and exchange practical advice
* An extensive technical library containing parts books, owners’ manuals, service information and Land Rover technical publications
* Advice from experienced members and specialist vehicle inspectors
* Help identifying vehicles, components, chassis numbers and production details
* A club vehicle database which can help establish manufacturing information and vehicle history
* Support in finding parts, solving mechanical problems and keeping vehicles safely on the road
Vehicle registration and identity services
The club is recognised by the DVLA as a specialist body for Series 2 Land Rovers.
Our Vehicle Registration Office can guide owners through matters including:
* The DVLA V765 re-registration scheme
* Reclaiming an original registration number where suitable evidence exists
* Applying for an appropriate age-related registration
* Confirming vehicle identity and manufacturing details
* Assessing documentary evidence
* Arranging the physical vehicle inspections required for qualifying applications
* Processing V765 cases before submission to the DVLA
* Authentic chassis-plate stamping upon production of the relevant V5C
The club can also provide guidance on historic-vehicle and MOT-exemption matters. Owners considering a registration application should always contact our Vehicle Registration Officer before approaching the DVLA, as these cases must be handled in the correct sequence.
Built 2 Last
Members receive four editions each year of our award-winning club magazine, Built 2 Last.
Written by members for members, every issue is packed with vehicle histories, restoration stories, technical guidance, workshop advice, event reports, travel adventures and the wonderfully varied experiences that come with Series Land Rover ownership.
A club to enjoy on the road
Series Land Rovers were built to be used, and the social side of the club is every bit as important as the technical support.
Our network of local areas organises regular pub meetings, road runs, green-lane trips, workshop gatherings, camping weekends and visits to classic-car and Land Rover events. Members are welcome to visit any area meeting, wherever they happen to be.
The club also organises an annual rally and attends major shows throughout the country, providing plenty of opportunities to meet fellow enthusiasts, exchange stories and enjoy these vehicles in good company.
Membership benefits
Members can also enjoy:
* Discounts from selected insurance, parts and specialist-product providers
* Access to club events, rallies and vehicle displays

The club is affiliated with organisations including the Association of Land Rover Clubs, the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs and the Green Lane Association, helping to support the wider historic-vehicle movement and the responsible enjoyment of our countryside.
