1921 2¼HP Dot Lightweight

Dot Motorcycles, manufactured by H Reed & Co first came to public notice at the 1907 Stanley Show, where two machines, both V-twins, were exhibited. The Dot brand stands for  “Devoid of Trouble”

By 1908 Harry Reed had ridden his Dot in the first motorcycle race at Brooklands and to victory in the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy race of that year.    Dots remained competitive machines into the 1960’s. Late in 1914 Harry Reed produced his first Lightweight but this machine was not catalogued until after the Great War.

Transmission: Primary chain to clutch and Albion 2-speed gearbox with belt final drive
