1929 Caterpillar 10 High Clear

This rare Caterpillar 10 High Clear tractor, built circa 1929, was imported from the United States and meticulously restored in the 1990s by Caterpillar enthusiast Robert Willson. It is believed to be the only example of its kind in the UK.
The tractor is displayed alongside a trailed cultivator manufactured by Martins of Stamford. Both pieces are proudly owned and presented by members of the National Vintage Tractor and Engine Club.
Introduced in 1928 as a successor to the Caterpillar 2-Ton, the Caterpillar 10 quickly gained popularity among orchard farmers due to its compact design. The high-clearance variant was specifically engineered for row crop farming, allowing for greater versatility in navigating taller crops and uneven terrain.
Designed for year-round utility, the Caterpillar 10 High Clear was capable of handling a wide range of tasks—from snow clearing and land preparation to crop treatment, harvesting, and general groundworks. Its enduring legacy reflects the ingenuity and adaptability of early 20th-century agricultural engineering.
