1985 Ferrari 208 GTB Turbo

Part of the John Pogson/Auto Italia Collection for the past few years, this is a wonderfully preserved Ferrari 208 GTB Turbo showing just over 17,000 miles. Unlike many examples, it has never been restored, remaining beautifully factory-original inside and out – a rare opportunity to secure a car befitting of any discerning Prancing Horse collection.
Introduced in 1982 at the Turin Motor Show, the 208 Turbo transformed Ferrari’s 2-litre V8 into a serious performer. With a KKK turbocharger and Bosch K-Jetronic injection, output jumped to 220 bhp – later 254 bhp – closing the gap on its 3-litre 308 stablemate. Distinctive bodywork tweaks, including NACA ducts, bonnet vents and quad exhausts, marked out the model, of which only 437 Coupés were produced before production ended in 1986.
This example is one of those 437, originally supplied by Crepaldi of Milan on 1 January 1985 in Rosso Corsa over beige. It remained in Italy until 2019, when it joined John Pogson’s collection. A respected Ferrari engineer and racer, Pogson has overseen meticulous maintenance to preserve originality, even dismantling and inspecting the engine, gearbox and differential before reassembly. Almost every factory component remains, and its suspension has been set up by Pogson himself.
At 27,686 km (around 17,200 miles), this Ferrari is exceptionally well preserved, still wearing its first paint and retaining its superb interior. The car is accompanied by its original Schedoni luggage, a comprehensive history file with bills and invoices, and a letter from Tony Willis confirming its credentials.
A beautifully authentic survivor, this 208 GTB Turbo offers both rarity and provenance – one of the finest original examples in the UK, presented from a significant Ferrari collection.
