1987 Ferrari 328 GTB
I’ve owned this 1987 Ferrari 328 GTB since September 2025, having enjoyed both classic and modern Ferrari’s for many years. I bought the car from a dealer in Kent, where it had been cared for by its previous owner for around 20 years. With just 22,000 miles on the clock, it remains a wonderfully original example.
Powered by a 3.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 producing 266bhp, the 328 GTB is a rare sight. Ferrari built just 1,344 GTB’s, with only 130 right-hand-drive cars produced. This is also a desirable pre-ABS model, retaining the original wheel design preferred by many enthusiasts. A fun fact, the model name comes from the car's 3.2-litre 8 cylinders engine.
Since purchasing the car, I’ve focused on careful maintenance, carrying out most of the cleaning and preparation myself while leaving specialist mechanical work to the experts.
Driving the 328 is a true analogue experience, with Ferrari’s iconic gated gearshift, a dog-leg first gear, no power steering and a floor-mounted handbrake. It demands a bit more effort than modern cars, but that's all part of its charm.
The car is used regularly during the summer and attends events across the country, including the Ferrari Owners' Club Concours, where it won Best in Class in 2026.
What I love most about the car is its character. From the unmistakable sound of the V8 and the smell of the leather to the retro dashboard and pop-up headlights, every drive feels like stepping straight back into the 1980s.
