‘Classic’ Movie Stars and Cars On Show
‘Classic’ tells the story of classic car ownership and the life affirming relationships and enjoyment this hobby can give us. Due to start filming this year, it is set at a classic car show held in North Yorkshire.
Actress Katherine Kelly, best known for TV shows such as Coronation Street, Mr Selfridge, and the ITV drama The Long Shadow, plays Ruby and serves as both an actor and producer on the film.
Katherine will attend the NEC show with multi award winning, writer, actor, director and playwright Tony Pitts, who also hosts the podcast Three Little Words with comedian John Bishop.
Tony wrote, acted and produced the British comedy feature film ‘Funny Cow’ as well as writing and producing several TV shows and radio plays. He has appeared in All Creatures Great and Small, Peaky Blinders, and some people may even remember him as Archie Brooks in Emmerdale back when it was a farm.
He directs this new film alongside actress/comedian Sally Phillips, star of the Bridget Jones Trilogy. Ronni Ancona (Last Tango in Halifax) also stars.
This dark comedy features a 1974 Round Wheel Arch MG Midget, affectionately called ‘Zoom’, that will be on display at the NEC, curtesy of the MG Owners Club.
Katherine and Tony will be interviewed by Salvage Hunters Classic Cars host Paul Cowland, who is also working in an advisory role on the film, at the Meet the Experts Theatre in Hall 5 at 2pm on Saturday 11 November.
The season finale of the classic motoring community, the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show has over 3,000 vehicles on display along with over 300 motoring clubs, making it the world’s biggest car club gathering.
