Classic Motor Show
The Club Edit Volume 2

There’s no show like a club display show, and a club display show don't STOP! This year’s Classic Motor Show is already shaping up to be a belter. From modified muscle to pristine preservation, here’s what just a few of our car clubs are bringing along to show off in November – and trust us, these are no ordinary classics…

Scirocco Register

A wet, silver Mk2 Volkswagen Scirocco with a license plate "XEH 73X", featuring custom BBS-style wheels and a front bumper spoiler, parked at a car show on a rainy day.

The unmistakable wedge profile of the Volkswagen Scirocco will be back in force this year, with Mk1 and Mk2 examples likely to include rare factory body kits. Standard vs modified will be a key theme on their stand, and with the club’s 30th anniversary coming up next year, the countdown starts here.

Fordsport

A classic light blue Ford Escort Bantam "Leisure" pickup truck, with a blue bed cover and white wheels, photographed from the side at an outdoor car show.

Ever heard of a Bakki? FordSport is bringing something properly unexpected – a South African Ford Bantam pickup, based on the Ford Escort. Imported in 2021 and now with its current owner, this little workhorse will sit alongside a full Escort-themed display showing the model’s versatility, from practical to performance-tuned.

Capri280 Group

A dark green Ford Capri 280TT with its hood open, showcasing the engine at an outdoor car show, with two other classic Ford Capris visible on either side and a display board for the "Capri 280TT" in the foreground.

It's been almost 40 years since the limited-edition Ford Capri280 hit UK roads – all built in December 1986 and unveiled to the public in February 1987. Only 1038 were made, and one of just 100 Turbo Technics versions will be on display this year. Got questions about owning or restoring one? The Capri280 Group will be on hand in Hall 8 with answers, club regalia, and even parts.

A pristine dark green Ford Capri 280 parked in a lot, with a "capri 280 group" front license plate and a line of tall trees in the background. A classic dark blue Ford Capri 280, license plate "D828 ODB", is shown from the rear in a wet parking lot, with a line of other vintage cars visible in the distance. A new Ford fuel pump relay (part number 6 145 938) for a classic Escort RS Turbo in its original box, shown next to an identical used relay.

Gordon-Keeble Owners' Club

A classic dark maroon Gordon-Keeble GK1 coupe with a red leather interior, parked in front of a vintage-style petrol station with retro Wakefield and Castrol motor oil signs.

Two examples of the rare GK1 will be on show – one in near-original 1964 spec, the other modified with non-original paint and bodywork. Through posters and storyboards, the club will tell the story of this uniquely British-Italian marque, exploring its blend of sporting performance and luxury elegance.

TR Drivers Club

A classic red Triumph TR7 coupe, with license plate "UEV 368R", parked on a gravel shoulder in a hilly, rural landscape with a historic stone ruin and chimney in the background.

The TR Drivers Club are pulling no punches this year, bringing a trio of Triumphs that show just how varied — and thrilling — the TR scene can be.

First up is a rare 1973 Triumph TR6, finished in eye-catching Magenta — one of just 331 produced for the UK market in this colour. But this car isn’t just about the paintwork. It’s been upgraded with Koni shocks all around, a Stage 2 tune, a fast road cam, and petrol injection on its 2500cc engine, making it a true driver’s car with a distinctive edge.

A classic purple Triumph TR6 roadster, with license plate "TGF 782M", parked on a driveway with a black convertible top, a wooden fence, and trees in the background.

Next, a 1977 Triumph TR7 V8 Fixed Head Coupé delivers serious punch thanks to a Rover V8 engine topped with a 4-barrel Holley Carb. A Wilwood brake conversion and 15-inch Revolution wheels complete the performance-focused transformation.

Finally, there's a TR7 Convertible in Ford Radiant Red — a long-term labour of love, restored in 1999 and owned by the same enthusiast since 1996. It’s packed with subtle upgrades, including a custom interior, Rover Vitesse brakes, US-spec bumpers and MGF alloy wheels, making it a unique take on a modern classic.

A classic red Triumph TR7 coupe, with a black soft top and license plate "CTR 417W", parked on a brick driveway in front of a residential house.

And that’s just a slice of what’s to come. With hundreds of clubs taking part, there’ll be more variety, MODS, rarity and nostalgia than ever before.
