The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show is set to break new ground this year, announcing an exciting partnership with Pipercross Performance Air Filters to bring a brand-new modified car showcase to Birmingham’s NEC from 7-9 November.
This innovative feature will shine a spotlight on the creative community of car modification, displaying projects that span the full spectrum of the scene, whether it’s a fully customised showstopper, a laid-back cars and coffee cruiser, or the ultimate track weapon.
Visitors to Hall 5 can expect a curated six-car display, assembled by both the show team and Pipercross, who have long supported the modified scene not only with their renowned range of products but also through their active engagement with enthusiasts.
Show director Lee Masters explains: “The classic car community and the modified car scene have increasingly found common ground, creating a vibrant and inclusive culture that appeals to younger enthusiasts. Traditionally, there were two distinct groups—one focused on preservation and authenticity, the other on personalisation and performance. Now, these communities are collaborating in the best possible way, and that’s exactly what we want to highlight at this year’s season finale.”
Pipercross, a leader in British engineering for over four decades, is synonymous with high-performance air filters trusted by both professionals and hobbyists. Their commitment to innovation and excellence continues to drive the modified scene forward. Dale Masterman, Marketing Lead at Pipercross, said: “Building connections, friendships and bonds within the culture allows us to come together and display some truly special cars at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show. I’m sure the display will have something to inspire.”
Amongst the anticipated vehicles on display are a ferocious Ford Focus RS, a stylish MK5 Golf GTi, a high-performance Porsche 911, a monster Mini that defies expectations, and a Nissan Skyline that truly reaches new heights.
Lee adds: “The synergy between modified cars and classics is proving to be a powerful way to attract the next generation into classic car ownership. Younger enthusiasts, often drawn to the individuality of modified cars, are discovering the charm and legacy of classics through restomods, custom builds, and hybrid events that showcase both styles. The accessibility of digital platforms and DIY content has further lowered the barrier to entry, making classic car ownership feel less intimidating and more attainable. As a result, the classic car world is evolving—not just preserving the past but actively shaping its future by welcoming fresh perspectives and new energy.”
The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show continues to celebrate motoring heritage, bringing together over 3,000 vehicles and more than 300 classic car clubs. This year’s event promises to be a true celebration of both tradition and innovation, offering something for every enthusiast. Book your tickets now
