First 10 Finalists Revealed for Lancaster Insurance Pride of Ownership 2025

The Lancaster Insurance Pride of Ownership is back - and the first 10 finalists for the Autumn 2025 competition have been revealed! Each one tells a story of passion, perseverance, and pure love for classic cars. From family treasures to home restorations and once-in-a-lifetime rescues, these finalists remind us why this competition is at the heart of the show - and why your vote really counts.

Adam Crowton – 1966 Ford Mustang

A classic gold 1960s Ford Mustang coupe, owned by Adam Crowton, with aftermarket five-spoke wheels, parked outside a brick building with white pillars.

Having spent most of its life in California, this car was returned to its original colour once it came to the UK. Having appeared in Edd China’s Workshop Diaries and the book My Cool Classics, this American muscle car is bound to gee up the opposition.

Darren Adamson – 1991 Diahatsu Charade GTi

A red turbocharged Daihatsu Charade GTti hot hatch, owned by Darren Adamson, with a black trim and aftermarket wheels, parked under a tree in a grassy area.

With only ten of these cars believed to be still on UK roads, Darren planned to use this example as an ‘instruction manual’ for a restoration, but decided to restore this car instead. Parts have come from all over the world to get it to the standard it is today.

Harry Chodka – 1990 Volkswagen Golf MkII G60 Syncro

A modified black VW MK2 Golf with wide flared arches, deep-dish alloy wheels, and a roll cage visible through the windshield, owned by Harinda Chodha, parked outdoors.

Produced as a tester between the G60 2WD and Rallye 4WD, this car is one of 20 made. Having undergone an extensive restoration, the car has featured in numerous VW magazines and is currently in discussions with VW for a commercial and brand awareness program.

Christopher Boffey – 1973 Saab 96 V4

A classic teal blue Saab 96 car, owned by Christopher Boffey, parked on a paved driveway with its bonnet open, showing the tan interior.

Having been in the family for 35 years, this Saab holds a special place in Chris’s heart. His late father once owned a Saab, and Chris told him he’d have one of his own when he passed his driving test. That promise came true when the family was gifted this car, which has since undergone an extensive restoration to reach show standard.

Ian Dunning – 1998 Rover Mini Cooper

A custom light blue Rover Mini Cooper modified into a unique, vintage-style roadster with a white soft top, owned by Ian Dunning, parked in front of a brick wall.

Guaranteed to turn heads, Ian’s car is his own engineered version of a modern Austin 7. Having spent many years creating replica models of cars, Ian decided to create a truly unique car, so unique that it’s the only one in the world. It’s his pride and joy.

Luke Hopson – 1974 Rootes Commer PB ‘Deluxe’ Pick Up

A cream-colored classic 1974 Rootes Commer PB 'Deluxe' Pick Up van with custom signwriting, owned by Luke Hopson, parked against a corrugated green metal wall.

Having known this van his whole life, Luke finally got his hands on it in 2014 when he was looking for a restoration project, and a neighbour offered him this vehicle on the condition that he never gave up on it. The project has been a lifesaver for Luke, who has battled mental health issues. With both now back on top form, he is ready to conquer the most prestigious visitor-voted classic car competition out there!

Steven Prevett – 1972 Citroen SM

A side profile of a gold Citroën SM grand tourer, owned by Steven Prevett, parked on a street in front of a stone building with the sign 'The Bear Hotel'.

One of only 24 made for the Swedish market with special features for the cold climate, Steven purchased the SM eight years ago. With a Maserati Quad Cam V6 engine, the car has completed two trans-European tours, including Corsica this summer. With its 70s style and the striking gold colour, it’s a car that attracts a lot of attention.

Will Wilson – 1964 Ford Cortina MkI

A pristine light green classic Ford Cortina Mark I sedan, owned by Will Wilson, with chrome trim, parked on a road against a backdrop of rolling green hills.

This car has been with Will for some memorable family moments, having been purchased on the day his daughter was born. He then restored it so that it could be his wedding car and hopes that one day his daughter will use it for her wedding. It’s won many awards since it was completed in autumn 2024.

Nigel Walford – 1997 Volkswagen T4 800 Special

A white modified, lowered Volkswagen T4 Transporter van, owned by Nigel Walford, with aftermarket wheels and a roof rack, parked indoors at an auto show.

You’d never believe that this epic, award-winning camper started out as a basic builder’s van. Nigel took ownership five years ago and spent the first year converting it, including making quirky features out of rustic wood. The conversion still isn’t complete, though, as he continues to evolve the T4. A pop top is on the list after the show ends.

Jordon Fenton – 1983 Ford Fiesta 1.1L MkI

A restored bright red Ford Fiesta Mark I hatchback, owned by Jordan Fenton, with original silver hubcaps, parked outside a brick building.

This is ‘Lil Avvy’s first show appearance, having just been restored. Jordon has owned the car for eight years and spent the first four of those attending shows with his ‘co-driver’ mum Julie. Not long after starting the restoration, Julie was diagnosed with cancer, so work ceased. Sadly, Julie passed away in 2022, so the restoration has been completed in her memory.

These are just the first 10 incredible stories - and there’s plenty more to come. Keep your eyes peeled as we unveil the remaining finalists soon and get ready to help decide who takes home the coveted Pride of Ownership title at the show!
