Why Ian & Jackie’s 1969 Morris Minor Traveller (POA 831G) is the Ultimate Everyday Classic

When it comes to British motoring heritage, few vehicles capture the heart quite like the Morris Minor Traveller. For owners Ian and Jackie, their 1969 Traveller (POA 831G) isn't just a cherished classic, it’s an active, versatile family workhorse that regularly journeys across the UK and continental Europe.

A Longbridge Legacy Brought Home to Surrey

Purchased in October 2024, POA 831G joined Ian and Jackie’s garage to supplement their 2-door Morris Minor saloon, a car they’ve proudly owned for 19 years while it awaits some well-earned bodywork restoration.

Originally delivered directly to the iconic Longbridge plant, POA was later acquired by a Birmingham resident who undertook a comprehensive restoration between 2010 and 2013. Today, Ian and Jackie are just the third custodians of this historic vehicle, bringing it back south to its new home in Surrey.

"POA now gets used even more than our 2-door saloon. As a Traveller, it’s remarkably practical for Jackie’s wheelchair and mobility scooter—proving just how surprisingly roomy these classic British estates really are!"

Practicality Meets International Touring

Far from being a static showroom piece, POA 831G was built to be driven. Designed with genuine everyday usability in mind, the spacious rear load area easily accommodates mobility equipment, making daily outings effortless.

And the adventure doesn't stop in Surrey. Outfitted with an A-frame tow bar, POA is frequently towed behind Ian and Jackie’s motorhome. Together, they’ve logged countless miles exploring scenic routes across both the UK and France, proving that classic car ownership and modern motorhome touring go hand-in-hand.

A National Magazine Cover Star

This adventurous Traveller has also caught the eye of the wider motoring community. Ian and Jackie experienced the excitement of seeing their pristine POA 831G featured right on the front cover of Minor Matters, the national club magazine for the Morris Minor Owners' Club.
