The Jaguar Drivers’ Club (JDC) returns to the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show at the NEC Birmingham in November 2026 with a standout display that not only completes the club’s 70th anniversary celebrations but also supports the Show’s Debutants theme with cars from Jaguar’s history - the extraordinary XJ220 and the 30th anniversary of the XK8.

Focusing on the much-loved Jaguar XJ220, the JDC will display the original 1998 Motor Show XJ220 Concept Car Quad-cam V12 Prototype. Made by a dozen specialist engineers and designers, on a voluntary basis in their own time, with help from about 40 of Jaguar’s suppliers, the result was unveiled by Sir John Egan at the International Motor Show at the NEC on 18 October 1988. This is now part of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust’s collection.

The Prototype will sit alongside a production XJ220, owned by Nigel Webb, that has been converted from its delivered V6 configuration to a V12 installation. This gives visitors a rare opportunity to compare one of Jaguar’s most dramatic concept stories with an exceptional modern interpretation.

The Club will also mark 30 years since the debut of the Jaguar XK8 in 1996. The display is expected to feature four XK8 models, including the original pre-production car exhibited at Geneva Motor Show and the ‘Mule’ (Mechanical Prototype 19 / MP 19), which served as the crucial first development step for the Jaguar X100 project, which eventually launched as the XK8.

Two further examples, supplied by club members, will showcase the various values of these cars and highlight the significance of the X100 generation as an increasingly admired modern classic.

All Jaguar and Daimler fans will be welcomed to the stand that will include the JDC shop, where there will be a range of merchandise including the limited edition 70th anniversary collection, and meet members of the JDC team.
