Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show Reveals Inaugural Hall of Fame Inductees
The 40th anniversary celebrations for the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show got off to a flying start as the organisers revealed the inaugural inductees into its new Hall of Fame to visitors.
Recognising those people, motoring clubs and the classic cars that have had an impact on the show and the classic car community. The first inductee in the Classic Car category was the Jaguar E-Type.
An enduring motoring icon due to its blend of groundbreaking design, performance, and accessibility, the E-type is a combination of beauty, speed, and engineering innovation ensured its place as a timeless classic.
The show then invited David Whale, Chairman of the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC) to be inducted as the first Industry Ambassador.
Lee Masters, Show Director, explained: “David works tirelessly, often without recognition, and always with the classic motoring community’s best interests at heart. In his current position, he has been instrumental in advocating for legislation that protects historic vehicles from restrictive environmental regulations, ensuring that classic cars can continue to be driven on public roads.”
The show then invited the Jowett Car Club to join as its first ever Motoring Club. A huge supporter of the November show and the Restoration Show in March, the Jowett Car Club has a strong ethos of supporting the classic car movement in general and is always happy to assist and help others regardless of marque.
Lee added: “The support from the Jowett Car Club has been unwavering and they champion what our shows are all about – working together, helping others and keeping a marque alive.”
The final inductee came as a shock to Wheeler Dealer’ Mike Brewer, who had hosted the Hall of Fame proceedings, as he was invited to be the inaugural Community Ambassador.
Lee told the gathered visitors: “Mike has pledged unwavering support to this show and has spent his whole life championing motoring not only in the UK, but around the world. Saving classics one restoration at a time, he uses his platform to support worthwhile charities and encourage the next generation of petrolheads.”
The show now plans to add another four inductees at the next Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, which will be back at Birmingham’s NEC from 7-9 November 2025.
