The Top Five finalists in the Lancaster Insurance Pride of Ownership ‘Best of the Best’ competition have been decided and now it’s a race to the finish to decide the winner!
Of the 14 previous winners taking part, the public have voted their Top Five as Simon McNamara’s 1983 VW Golf GTi Mk1 (who won in autumn 2017), James Cribb’s 1989 Austin Metro City (autumn 2016), Paul Clappison’s 1972 MGB GT (spring 2018), Ted Brookes’ 1961 Morris Minor Million (autumn 2019) and Colin Fidler’s 1956 Austin A35 (spring 2024).
The final round of voting will open on 8th October, with all votes carried over for the final stretch until the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show opens on 7th November, when the ‘Best of the Best’ winner will be announced.
Yvonne Gosney from Lancaster Insurance said: “The Pride of Ownership display has been a real highlight for enthusiasts over the last decade and continues to be so. What better way to celebrate the passion and heart-warming stories we’ve seen in that time by showcasing the ‘Best of the Best’ on our stand voted by the community. A huge thank you to everyone that’s been involved and taken part over the years, you’ve helped create a truly special display at the show. We can’t wait to see who is crowned winner next month.”
The trophy and prize bundle will be handed over to the winner on the show’s opening morning, with all five cars on the Lancaster Insurance stand at the entrance to Hall 1.
Show Director Lee Masters said: “Thank you to all the previous winners for taking part and to all those who have voted so far. Congratulation to our Top Five and we can’t wait to see who will lift the trophy and be crowned ‘Best of the Best’ at this year’s season finale.
