My Dad's Car podcast is hosted by Andy Gregory and Jon Recknell, and along with invited guests it is a celebration of everyday motoring memories. Despite the title, it's not just about what car your Dad drove; we chat about your Mum's cars, what your Grandparents had, discuss whether your neighbours or teachers choice of vehicle left an imprint or even influenced later buying decisions, and generally get nostalgic about all things automotive from days gone by.
Do you remember what music was playing on the way to school? Who was in the car? Were there seat belts? Where did you drive on holiday, what did the car smell of? So many questions, but it all starts with us asking what your earliest car memory is?
Beyond the chat about cars, there is a deeper subtext. The appreciation of what our parents did for us, and the lessons we can learn from this, because at any moment in any day, your actions could be your child’s first memory…
Andy and Jon both lost their Dads to terminal illness, and whilst this isn’t a ‘dead dad’ podcast it is also chance to remember those who are sadly no longer with us.
